INTRO

Where do we start? …I like long walks on the beach 😊 I’m very passion-driven, regardless of what I’m doing at the time. The way I see it, if I’m doing a task, it must be done with the foundation of quality; otherwise, it’s a waste of my time. I started my unrelenting pursuit of excellence in high school, where I was an All-American track and field hurdler. Since then, I’ve challenged myself and leaped every obstacle in my path. I tend to go above and beyond what’s expected of me because I’ve been extremely blessed and feel it’s my responsibility to share those blessings with others. You will notice that trait across all aspects of what I do. I also aim to “improve the process along the way” to increase efficiency because I hate when my time is wasted as it’s my most prized possession. I’m satisfied if I can make the journey for those who follow a little easier than mine.

I’m now at the tail-end of two accomplished careers – one in personal finance and another in business management/international trade and development. COVID times have been amazing for me. It allowed me to really take the time to understand what’s most important to me – spirituality, family, impactfulness, nature – and focus on building a life based on appreciation and happiness. With that said, I now see myself as a leader to “modern-day farmers” motivated by balancing profit and impact while enjoying the earth rather than the alternative that is literally KILLING this planet!

With my passion and service-driven attitude, I’m a globally-minded, locally-focused business leader, a (simple) multifaceted guy who leverages my ability to network across the globe through my entrepreneurship and finance expertise to solve socio-economic problems faced by many. I’m working to create opportunities that branch the divides that hold back the best and brightest minds our world has to offer.

Last year, I purchased more than 25 acres of land in rural Ghana, West Africa, intending to develop a NET ZERO emission, fully sustainable, regenerative agricultural enterprise (a lot of words I know, LOL).  This location, Citrus Bluffs, will be the pilot site for my family’s initiative – ProFarms – which will establish demonstration farms across Ghana

that will ultimately train and help rural farmers in Africa (micro) sell their products globally (macro) while being grounded to our soils. The project touches on most of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Developmental Goals (SGDs), emphasizing SDGs: 1 – No Poverty; 2 – Zero Hunger; 3 – Good Health and Well-being; and 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth. We will also incorporate women and youth employment to create opportunities to learn how to – and ultimately manage their own farming operation.  This approach uses my grasp of global business’s micro and macro aspects to scale local developmental interests sustainably.   Website coming soon!

I started helping people wishing to expand their local and global networks for social, philanthropic, and professional/business endeavors through my brainchild – YoungProGlobal (YPG) – a global professional networking organization founded in 2008. YPG stopped formally operating in 2013 and is now being re-established as the “ProFarms Gateway.”

The gateway is an agriculture-focused network that will create the framework for an everyday purpose-driven supporter of global development, to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers who grow most of the food we eat. This focus on agriculture value chain development will have social and environmental impacts on climate change and guide those yearning to live a mission-driven life. The gateway is an ecosystem with the educational content, tools, resources, and subject matter expertise to support its community of members who aspire to relocate to/or invest in Africa, with Ghana as the initial focus country.

I designed the components of this ecosystem, incorporating my intense on-the-ground global travel experience, expertise in personal finance, business management, and international trade and development to provide a smooth transition for individuals and businesses who often struggle with a murky transition to African countries.  Website coming soon!

I love to travel. I love business. I love being a resource for others. International trade and development encompass all these components.

I’m a NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) deeply engraved in helping international and domestic companies access global markets through foreign trade and development services. I co-founded ProGlobalPartners (PGP), an organization that combines its expertise in engineering, finance, logistics, procurement, and relationship management with an underlying commitment to social responsibility. We have teams, resources, and relationships on the ground in over 50 countries, worldwide.

We’ve helped export everything from professional services to Afghanistan, power systems to the Asia-Pacific, or containerized off-grid infrastructure solutions to Africa. Anything related to international trade or development, it’s highly likely that I’m very familiar with it in some capacity. Needless to say, I know the resources and support available from local, state, federal, or international trade-related agencies and global funding and development institutions.

I’ve been an advocate for financial literacy since I wrote a term paper, my senior year in high school, on “why financial literacy should be taught in America’s schools” (I wish I could actually find that paper today :-/). Anyhow, since 2004, I’ve been a licensed financial service professional with securities and/or insurance licenses. I’ve written many eBooks, guides, workbooks, and related works to help my clients understand and apply financial concepts to better position themselves and their families for financial success.

Now that I’ve shifted my focus to more agricultural and international development-related endeavors, I wanted to close out my financial services career by creating a do-it-yourself financial planning and management software that could help millions of people long after my licenses have expired.

The DIY software – GREEN$ – allows its users to achieve their financial goals and objectives without the pressure or judgment many individuals face when managing their finances effectively. The software takes a psychological and behavioral finance approach to gather, analyze users’ financial status, and guide their financial decision-making process to help them secure a more fulfilling future for themselves and their families. This concept was created using my more than 15 years of financial planning and advisory services offerings for individuals, businesses, and their families under the Wyndham Financial Services umbrella, a firm I founded in 2007. We are at the point where we wish to accelerate development and are open to "seed round" investor discussions. Business plan and investor documents are available upon request.

I hold a B.A. & Advanced Certificate in Financial Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), I’m a licensed insurance professional, a holder of U.S. Federal & Ethics Tax Law Certificates, a licensed real estate professional, and a commissioned notary public. For more information about GREEN$ or my other works, please follow the applicable links.

So when I’m not creating global partnerships for creative project development, advocating for financial literacy, or explaining to our farm workers the importance of regenerative agricultural practices (vs. traditional, high carbon producing, or chemical-based farming), I’m either thinking about or spending time with family, mentoring others, enjoying ramen in Tokyo, trekking to see mountain gorillas in Rwanda, or the like.

I’m the first grandson of Queen Mother Nana Ama Nyarko Abronoma I of the Denkyira Traditional Area in the Central Region of Ghana, West Africa. I’m the firstborn of Kaestner (Jamaica) and Dr. Jacqueline (Trinidad & Tobago) McDonnough, retired STEM practitioners and educators, who raised me in a setting that inculcated the spirit of teaching others how to build. I’m the husband to Naomi (Ghana) and father-to-be of baby Love. I am an alumnus of Benedictine College Preparatory School (a private Roman Catholic all-boys military high school) and grew up in Richmond, Virginia. I love exploring my natural inclination for photography; I’m an adventurer who has traveled to 35+ countries, exploring the local culture and cooking with new flavors encountered during my travels (combined with my grandmother’s teachings, aunts, and uncles).

I’ve authored multiple works; I’m a certified scuba diver (dove the Great Barrier Reef), boater, a former All-State/All-Metro football player (running back), and All-American track athlete (…+20 years later, I still hold high school and collegiate records), and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity (Spring ‘11).

I live a life of personal satisfaction while maintaining a serious balance of professional success and a firm belief that “Blessing the lives of others through giving is the best way to show gratitude to God for your blessings.”
